Chemical Properties

Arginine is a diaminomonocarboxylic acid. The nonessential amino acid, arginine, is a urea cycle amino acid and a precursor for the neurotransmitter nitric oxide, which plays a role in the regulation of the brain’s system of dilation and constriction of small blood vessels. It is strongly alkaline and its water solutions absorb carbon dioxide from the air (FCC, 1996). Functionality in foods includes, but is not limited to, nutrient and dietary supplement
White crystalline powder
Uses Amino acid; nutrient.

L-Arginine Uses:

1.For biochemical research, various types of hepatic coma and viral hepatic alanine aminotransferase abnormalities.

2.Nutritional supplements; flavoring agents. Heating reaction with sugar (amino-carbonyl reaction) can obtain special flavor substances. It is an important component of amino acid infusion and comprehensive amino acid preparations.

3.Amino acid drugs.

4.Used as pharmaceutical raw materials and food additives

5.Arginine is an essential amino acid to maintain the growth and development of infants and young children. It is an intermediate metabolite of the ornithine cycle, which can promote the conversion of ammonia into urea, thereby reducing blood ammonia content. It is also the main component of sperm protein, which promotes sperm production and provides energy for sperm movement. In addition, intravenous arginine can stimulate the pituitary to release growth hormone, which can be used for pituitary function tests.
