Description

What is Vitamin B3?

Vitamin B3, also known as nicotinic acid and vitamin B3, is a water soluble, essential B vitamin that, when given in high doses, is effective in lowering low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and raising high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, which makes this agent of unique value in the therapy of dyslipidemia. Vitamin B3 can cause mild-to-moderate serum aminotransferase elevations and high doses and certain formulations of niacin have been linked to clinically apparent, acute liver injury which can be severe as well as fatal.

Nicotinic acid Uses And Synthesis

Nicotinic acid is a pyridinemonocarboxylic acid that is pyridine in which the hydrogen at position 3 is replaced by a carboxy group. It has a role as an antidote, an antilipemic drug, a vasodilator agent, a metabolite, an EC 3.5.1.19 (nicotinamidase) inhibitor, an Escherichia coli metabolite, a mouse metabolite, a human urinary metabolite and a plant metabolite. It is a vitamin B3, a pyridinemonocarboxylic acid and a pyridine alkaloid. It is a conjugate acid of a nicotinate.

Vitamin B3 Applications:

1. Feed Additives

can increase the utilization rate of feed protein, increase the milk production of dairy cows and the production and quality of poultry meat such as fish, chickens, ducks, cattle and sheep.

2. Health and Food Products
Promote the normal growth and development of the human body

It can prevent skin diseases and similar vitamin deficiencies, and has the effect of dilating blood vessels.

3. Industrial Field
Niacin also plays an irreplaceable role in the fields of luminescent materials, dyes, electroplating industries, etc.

4. Pharmaceuticals

Maxmedchem could offer pharma grade Nicotinic acid used for medicines production and supplements.
